Progress, Not Perfection, Right? (February Sewing)
My Aunt Zona has given me a new motto. “Progress, not perfection.” And yes, I am making progress on the Roman shades for our living room and dining room. I’ve discovered that I have enough fabric to make five shades, … Continue reading

I am really in love with making drawstring bags currently! I made this one for Ellie yesterday. My friend Anne gave me the great idea of having a bag to keep in the car with some toys and books. So, … Continue reading

February Sewing: Nik’s T-Shirt Quilt – The Binding is Done!
I finally finished hand-sewing the binding to the back of Nik’s quilt! Normally, this is when I would be able to announce that I was finally completely finished. Alas, I still have to hand sew some letters on – the … Continue reading

January Sewing: Nik’s T-Shirt Quilt – and the quilting just goes on and on and on
That’s what I get for choosing to quilt the whole thing with lines 3/8″ apart. I am close to 75% done anyway!

And yes, I realize I put an excessively excessive amount of pins in that thing (more than double what’s really necessary) but I had some issues with the back being wonky. Mostly, sewing all those little pieces of knit together … Continue reading
January Sewing: Nik’s T-Shirt Quilt (still a WIP*)
(The raisins are still working their magic so I thought I’d post one more picture!) My Christmas present to Nik is a T-shirt quilt made from some of his old T-shirts from high school and college. I’m in the “pinning … Continue reading
Reflections on Sewing in 2011 and Predictions for 2012
I’m joining in with Sew Mama Sew to reflect on 2011 and make some predictions and set some goals for 2012 (using some of their suggested questions). Looking back at the 2011 sewing scene, what trends stand out? I became … Continue reading
