Babies (no, that’s not what I’m going to announce)

From E’s drill last week:

Yesterday, Mr. B call Mrs. B and Mrs. B went home quickly and Mr. B said to her, “I want to [have a] baby.”

And then J walked up to me to hand in all their drill papers and patted me on the stomach and said, “Hi baby!”

And then E said, “Hi baby!  Welcome to Mrs. B stomach!”

I think they want me to have a baby!

That’s hilarious!  We got that sort of thing a lot in Lebanon…when people would find out we were married, they would give a pleased nod and ask if I was pregnant.  (Do I look pregnant?!)  Or ask “any babies”?  I learned to pass it off by saying no, but “enshallah”….they were pleased not only that Lord willing we would have babies sometime but also that I knew some Arabic and knew how to use it appropriately.  The pleased nod would then return ;o)
BTW, I don’t think I ever commented on your comment a week or two ago…that is so neat that you went to school with Joanne Lyon’s son!  We were quite impressed with the organization and their heart to impact the world positively.  She seemed like a lovely woman.  Thanks for the comment-sorry it took me so long to reply to your comment!

  4. maybe you are and your kids are psychic. Or not. I really love how honest kids are.
