A Fall Festival Just for Me!

Sunday was my 35th birthday.  (35!  That feels so much older than 34.)

The weather was gorgeous so we decided to take a walk in a nearby park.  When we got there, we discovered that the annual fall festival was in progress.  It turned out to be a wonderful festival with demonstrations on blacksmithing, grinding corn, making rope, making straw brooms, beekeeping, cider-making, and lots more.  There were lots of animals to pet too, including sheep, rabbits, alpacas, and a donkey.  There was a little bluegrass band and a children’s garden.  All in all, it was a lovely way to spend my birthday afternoon.  (And we had fun taking pictures with our new camera!)

I’m so sad we missed you! We were also there on Sunday (given that Cromwell is my favorite place to go within 10 minutes of our house). Rigby got stung by a bee while we were tasting some honey… so sad! He got over it after a run through the creek and the meadow, though.

We really do need to head over there together sometime!
