We just had a 5.8 magnitude earthquake! Here! In Baltimore!! 25 minutes ago! Our whole house shook for what felt like forever. I actually ran downstairs into the basement with Ellie because the only thing that I thought it could be was a tornado. I didn’t even know we could get real earthquakes around here.
Just a little fun for our afternoon! Everything around our house seems to be fine – no damage that I can see so far.

was it a loud earthquake laura? or was it just the shaking that sent you running? i’ve been through some that make a loud noise, and others that don’t. glad you’re all ok!
I don’t think it was the earthquake itself that was loud but just the stuff in the house shaking. And actually, I didn’t actually feel the bed moving that Ellie and I were lying on -as in, it didn’t feel like the ground was moving. So that’s what scared me – because it didn’t feel like an earthquake should!
