1.  She evidently got tired of not being fed any solid food (we will start someday, I promise) because I found something a little weird in her diaper yesterday.  It looked suspiciously like [slightly digested] paper.   So I guess her first food was paper!

2.   She has jet lag.  Without our knowing it, she must have spent a couple days in the middle of the Atlantic because for the last couple days, she seems to be on a routine about an hour and a half ahead of us.  She wants to go to bed at six and wake up at five.  Somehow we have to break this jet lag!  I will say that it’s awfully nice and cool  in the wee hours of the morning – s0 much better than the very hot sun.

3. It was in the eighties yesterday so we ate dinner outside in the shade on our lawn.  Ellie has spent plenty of time outside but this was her first experience with a fairly strong wind.  It was nice and warm but still gusting pretty hard.  It was so much fun to see her catch her breath in surprise every time a gust came by her!  She would take a sharp intake of breath, blink a few times, and then grin at us!  There are so many new things to experience when you’re a baby!
