When Ellie is feeling calm and is lying on her back, she often assumes the “Fencer” pose, which is also called the “Tonic Neck Reflex.” I love this one – I’ll look over at her and she’ll just be posing. It’s particularly endearing to me, for some reason. I could take a million pictures of her “fencing” but here’s just one. (And yes, I know her head looks dangerously close to the edge of the table, but she was safe, believe me.)
I won’t be sad when her newborn startle reflex goes away but I will miss this one!

So cute, Laura! It’s always the funny little things that you end up remembering. Our Matthew used to do a similar pose…except his arm would be pointing straight out in front of him like a super hero. We nicknamed him “SUPER Matty Man”, and from that point on it stuck!
We called it Kaitlyn’s “Superhero” pose!
Perfect!
