For the next few weeks, you can look forward to a new Poetry Thursday series called,
“Poems Even a Middle Schooler Will Like.”
Here’s the first entry:
How to Get A Girlfriend
by Lenin Salinas
by Lenin Salinas
First, you have to get to know her.
Then, get her a present.
Don’t forget, girls like flowers.
Then tell her all about you
and then ask her,
“Do you want to be my girlfriend?”
If she says “No,” don’t say anything,
just walk away.
If she says “Yes,”
don’t act silly
because she may think you’re stupid
and leave you for another boy.
Don’t try to kiss her right away,
and don’t talk bad to her.
If you follow my instructions,
you may just get one.
Oh, middle school poems I am really looking forward to! This one is a good start. Too fun! And yes, I believe sunset over the ocean was one of our main reasons for moving from Glennallen to the Left Coast rather than the Right. Oh, and the humidity (lack of it here). I’m glad you liked looking at the pictures – aren’t they pretty?
