Lately, Ellie has taken to giving us “squinty eyes” whenever she’s unhappy about something. This is not actual crying but rather, “Woe is me. You’re not doing what I want you to do. Let me pretend to be upset.”
For example,
“Mama, I’m mad at you because you walked away from me for two seconds.”
Or,
“I’m really mad at you now because you left the room.”
Who taught her how to do this? She is very deliberate as to when she uses the squinty eyes. I actually can usually predict when they’re going to come out.
Nik and I have so much fun with the squinty eyes. We have so much fun with this girl. We are so blessed.
Poor child. And absolutely nothing to do in the box next to her.
I know. I neglect her shamefully. 🙂
