A few hard lessons I’ve learned already today

1. A baby cannot be rushed.  (Actually, I learned this lesson while nannying 6 years ago but I evidently forgot it.)

2. It’s not a good idea to start a baking project where the items have to come out at different times because they’re different sizes (mini-muffins, muffins, mini-loaves) while also needing to nurse your baby.

3. A happy baby can turn into a screaming baby in no time at all but then take forever to be convinced to turn back into a happy baby.

3. When it comes down to it, my most important  job right now is to take care of Ellie.  I have to let all my other priorities/goals go.  That’s a hard lesson for perfectionist me and one I’m sure I’ll have to keep on learning.

4.  Being a parent is hard – and incredibly wonderful too.
